What surprises me is that none of these supposedly-rebellious Gryffie kids, all named after dead people important to their stuffy old parents, never changed their names when they hit their teens. My niece and one of my nephews have both changed theirs. My nephew just switched to using his middle name, but my niece has gone from Emily to "Parker."

I had to laugh I that, though I didn't say anything to her about it. Back in the Seventies, one of my political science professors said that one of the ways you can tell the elite in the United States is that their first names are last names. He gave a number of examples, of which the only one I remember is Nelson Rockefeller. Nowdays it's the daughters of the working class who are named things like Nelson and Madison...and Parker. Which means, of course, that elite American males are NOT given those names any more.

I'd expect Teddy to change his name to something like, say, Arcturus, for the same reason Sirius pasted muggle posters to his walls: to outrage his family. Or is he too much of a goody-two-shoes for that?
